I am delighted to have been awarded the University of Graz’s 2026 Visiting Award for High Potentials. This award will enable me to undertake an eight-week research visit at the Helmholtz Zentrum München, where I will be working in the Endocrine Pharmacology research group at the Institute for Diabetes and Cancer.
During my stay, I will investigate the delivery of therapeutic microRNAs using protamine-based nanoparticles in advanced models of adipose tissue. By combining nanomedicine with organoid models and microfluidic systems, I aim to gain a better understanding of how microRNA-based therapeutics reach adipose tissue and regulate the function and metabolism of adipocytes.
This research visit offers me the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art experimental models and methods that perfectly complement my research at the University of Graz. I am particularly looking forward to establishing new international collaborations and engaging in scientific exchange with experts in this field.
I am very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to bringing the insights and experience gained in Munich back to the University of Graz. There, they will enrich and further advance my ongoing research into innovative nanocarrier systems for RNA-based therapeutics.
