Doctoral School Pharmacy
Course outline, qualification and competences
The doctoral degree is the highest level of professional education in the natural sciences. The highly competitive Doctoral Program in Natural Sciences provides top-quality scientific education at an international level. Students learn to independently master new scientific questions. They acquire new knowledge and widen their methodological competences. The subject of the doctoral thesis must originate from a subject taught at the Faculty of Natural Sciences or by a doctoral school (biology, chemistry, earth sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, etc.). The doctoral program promotes students’ development of specific methods in relevant scientific disciplines. Students are able to critically analyze, evaluate and connect complex ideas. They are in a position to develop appropriate solutions for challenges in research, business and industry. In addition to scientific expertise, students further develop key soft skills while writing their doctoral thesis (project and time management, scientific writing, presentation skills, and flexibility).
Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Natural Sciences are highly qualified junior researchers with a broad scope of specialist and methodological skills, which they can apply to specific questions. Graduates are able to solve current scientific problems in independent innovative research projects and therefore substantially contribute to the development of an (inter)national knowledge society.
